I interned with the Council on International Educational Exchange (CIEE) as a Latin America Student Fellow through the Leading Change in Latin America scholarship award. This opportunity allowed me to complete a social media internship and a semester abroad in Latin America with zero program fees. The program setup I chose was Merida, Mexico (6 weeks), Monteverde, Costa Rica (6 weeks), and Buenos Aires, Argentina (6 weeks). For the duration of the program, I was taking on program courses in Latin American studies, while also interning with local organizations in Monteverde and Buenos Aires with emphases on digital marketing and community service. My responsibility as a Latin American fellow was to create and publish at least 2 pieces of engaging content per week about my experience abroad with CIEE Latin America to promote the company’s programs in the region.
