As a part of my second block with CIEE, I participated in an internship at The Monteverde Institute, a local research, education, and conservation center. I began my internship working with my CIEE peers in data collection, gardening, and community painting, but shortly after, my work shifted over to the marketing department. I worked with the head of marketing to construct a standardized process for creating and posting content to maximize efficiency and engagement, while identifying broader brand image issues and creating solutions. I also constructed informational videos using camera trap footage to accompany community and educational events, intended to teach locals about the organisms living with them in their communities and bring awareness to conservation efforts.
