My Story with Verto Education
My professional journey with Verto Education began after I studied abroad with them in Costa Rica in Fall of 2023. I fell in love with the program, and felt called to share my gratitude in a speech at the closing ceremony. The passion and understanding I displayed for Verto’s mission of transformative international education was recognized by the CEO and on-program staff, leading to the opportunity to study and intern abroad for a second semester in Buenos Aires, Argentina through the Verto Education Presidential Scholarship. This position consisted of curating, writing, and scheduling social media posts five days a week across multiple platforms, using both my own original content along with media from other locations. I acted as a general support for the marketing team, aiding in analytical, graphic design, content creation, and live event tasks.

Hey everyone, this is Madison! To reintroduce myself, I am a two-time Verto alumnus, and I am in my third week of being home after my second semester abroad in Buenos Aires. I wanted to talk about my experience coming home after both semesters and what that was like, including reverse culture shock, leaving a city you fell in love with, and seeing home with a new perspective…
Hey everyone! My name is Madison and I am currently studying abroad in Buenos Aires, Argentina, which is my second semester abroad with Verto! Today I wanted to talk about homesickness, which is what I get asked about the most by people who have never lived abroad before. Graduating high school and moving on to the next steps of your life can be scary no matter what you’re doing, and doing it abroad can make it even scarier…

Student Saturday Segment
Student Saturdays is a weekly segment I created to more easily increase our upload volume while establishing a consistent, structured content format. Student testimonials are some of our most in-demand content, so dedicating a recurring segment incentivizes prospective students to follow Verto’s social channels, knowing they’ll regularly find information that’s relevant and helpful. The segment features student interviews, produced into both long-form YouTube features and segmented short-form clips. The full interview lives on YouTube, while individual responses are distributed weekly across Instagram, creating a consistent Saturday content drop that repurposes testimonial footage and drives cross-platform traffic back to the channel.

Greatest Takeaways
My position with Verto Education was my first in the marketing industry, and exponentially enhanced my technical and professional skills. I developed a strong understanding of brand marketing fundamentals, including adhering to brand guidelines, integrating key messaging across all content, and responding to engagement trends and performance insights. I strengthened my abilities in graphic design, short- and long-form content production, and cross-platform distribution strategies. Working remotely also sharpened my collaboration and communication skills, as I partnered with multiple departments, managed deadlines independently, and consistently optimized my productivity.
